Vidya Vijy Nair
HEAD OF OPERATIONS
Vidya Nair leads operations for GFI APAC, ensuring the organisation has the systems, processes, and financial discipline needed to support its mission. She works closely with the CEO and leadership team to strengthen operational strategy across people & culture, finance, governance, and organisational planning.
Her role focuses on building resilient internal systems that enable teams across the region to operate effectively, scale sustainably, and collaborate with GFI’s global network. She also supports regional planning, resource allocation, and cross-country alignment to help advance the development and adoption of alternative proteins across Asia Pacific.
She is based in Gurugram, India.
Before joining GFI, Vidya held senior leadership roles across global nonprofits, social enterprises, and mission-driven organisations. Most recently, she served as Director of Global People Operations at IDinsight, where she led organisational systems across multiple global entities and partnered with senior leadership on workforce strategy, financial planning, governance, and organisational effectiveness.
Previously, she led India operations at IDinsight and served as Director of Innovation Grants & Partnerships at Dimagi. Earlier in her career, she co-founded and served as COO of VSpace.Technology, overseeing operations, finance, and strategy for a distributed technology services platform operating across multiple countries.
She has also worked across sectors, including banking, the automotive industry, hydroelectric power, and energy, building a broad operational perspective across both private sector and mission-driven environments. She has lived and worked across Asia, Africa, and the United States, bringing a global perspective to organisational leadership and operations.
Vidya is an engineer by training and holds a postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management. She is a graduate of the INSEAD Leadership Program for Senior Executives and has completed the Board Leadership Program at ILSS.
